On February 19, 2025, a professional medical assistance team led by Prof. Yuhe LIU, Director of the Department of Otolaryngology and Head and Neck Surgery at Beijing Friendship Hospital, Capital Medical University, Professor Li YIN, Dean of the Nurotron Institute of Hearing and Speech Medicine, and Ms. Juan WANG, Chairman of the “IHEARU CHARITY FUND” Charity Organization, brought Nurotron cochlear implants to Tashkent, the capital of Uzbekistan, to carry out medical assistance to Uzbekistan.
In June 2024, at the China (Zhejiang)-Uzbekistan Economic and Trade Cooperation and Exchange Conference, Chu LI, CEO of Nurotron, a leading Chinese cochlear implant company, signed an important cooperation agreement with the Uzbek side. The Uzbek side purchased Nurotron cochlear implants to improve the hearing health of its children. Nurotron, together with well-known Chinese ear experts, carried out the systematic training of Uzbek medical personnel and improved the local ear diagnosis and treatment level through the “full chain” assistance model.

In this assistance plan, the Chinese team will draw on the rich experience of China in the field of ear diagnosis and treatment and cochlear implant surgery technology in the past two decades to provide Uzbekistan with all-round technical support. Specifically, it includes: program design guidance, professional personnel training, equipment operation training, etc., focusing on the public health project of hearing care for newborns and children.
The team will provide assistance in key links such as newborn hearing screening diagnosis, hearing intervention, and hearing and speech rehabilitation, and focus on the screening diagnosis and prenatal diagnosis of deafness genes, striving to prevent the occurrence of hearing impairment from the source.

On February 20, at the Republic of Otolaryngology and Head and Neck Diseases Professional Scientific Practice Medical Center in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, Prof. Yuhe LIU and Uzbek doctors performed cochlear implant surgery together. They successfully implanted Nurotron cochlear implants for 5 hearing-impaired people on the same day. The “first show” of this Chinese cochlear implant brand in Uzbekistan marks a historic breakthrough for Chinese cochlear implants in Central Asia. At the branch venue, other otolaryngologists in Uzbekistan also watched the whole operation process through live video, further deepening their understanding of cochlear implant technology.

Kadridi Sharapov from Tajikistan is one of the beneficiaries of Nurotron cochlear implants. After successfully implanting a cochlear implant in Moscow last October, he has surprised his family in terms of hearing and speech in just a few months. His mother said that she could feel that her child’s hearing and speaking were getting better and better in daily life, “often a new word suddenly popped up to surprise us.” This time, Kadridi came to Uzbekistan to participate in equipment debugging and shared his growth story with the Chinese expert team.
With the continuous deepening of cooperation between China and Uzbekistan, it is expected that more Uzbek medical personnel will receive systematic professional training. As a Chinese high-tech medical enterprise with fully independent intellectual property rights, Nurotron will continue to serve people with hearing loss around the world with advanced technology and products, and contribute unique Chinese wisdom and Chinese solutions to promote the building of a community with a shared future for mankind.
