Nurotron & ESPCI 2025, Look Forward to Seeing You Next Time!

The European Symposium on Pediatric Cochlear Implantation (ESPCI 2025) ended successfully last week.

The Board of ESPCI consists of the former organisers (Presidents) of the symposia. The Mission of the Board is to is to promote knowledge and skills on paediatric cochlear implantation through the organisation in Europe of a biennial symposium. This symposium aims at improving cochlear implant access, delivery, services and outcomes for children.

Fundamental to this is:

A multi professional approach, including scientists, otologists, audiologists, psychologists, therapists, educators and researchers
Promotion of good practice, challenging current thinking and stimulating fresh ideas
Promotion of recent outcomes of research
Promotion of knowledge and skills on the latest scientific and medical developments
The inclusion of keynote speeches, plenary sessions, discussions, specialist workshops and free
Paper and poster sessions
The inclusion of learning opportunities for students in related sciences and disciplines
The inclusion of parents, carers and the young people/children themselves
The symposia ensure that paediatric cochlear implantation continues to fulfil its life changing potential for children who are deaf and hard of hearing.

13:00~14:00, on 11th, June, Nurotron’s 1st symposium, Nurotron is really honored to have Prof. Dr. Thomas Lenarz, chairman of the conference used his topic “ European Multicentric Clinical Trial, why Nurotron? ” to open the Nurotron’s 1st symposium, from the perspective of Prof. Dr. Thomas Lenarz, attendees will gain insight into how lean R&D methodologies and a compliance-first approach have positioned Nurotron as a formidable contender in the cochlear implant space, with significant implications for future market dynamics and patient access worldwide. Prof. Dr. Xiuhua CHAO, deputy director of the auditory implantation department, Shandong Provincial ENT Hospital gave a speech on “ Future Perspectives on Robotic-Assisted Cochlear Implant Surgery ” which let us know that in the industry of cochlear implant, the advanced technology also can be a nice partner to bring the happiness to the patients. Prof. Dr. Yuan LI, chief physician, department of otolaryngology, Affiliated Hospital of Hangzhou Normal University shared “ Research Progress on Magnetic Resonance Compatible Cochlear Implants in China ” which showed that The Nurotron’s MRI-compatible cochlear implant (model CS-30A) demonstrated favorable safety and functional stability under both 1.5T and 3.0T MRI conditions. These findings support its feasibility and practical value for widespread clinical use. Prof. Li YIN, executive vice president, CMO, chief audiologist of Nurotron gave a lecture of “ A 15-year In-Depth Follow-up of Post-Lingual Deafness Patients with Chinese Cochlear Implants ”, which proved that Nurotron always treats its products with rigor and provides stable and lasting sincere service to patients. Dr. Sui HUANG, vice president of Nurotron Institute of Neurostimulation shared with the audience on “ Innovations in Nurotron’s Products and Technologies ” to let them know more about Nurotron.

17:15~18:00, on 12th, June, it is the 2nd symposium of Nurotron. During the symposium, Dr. Leopoldoo Deive Maggiolo, otolaryngologist, coordinator of the hearing impairment program at the National Health Service (SENASA) shared “ How to stablish a Pediatric National CI Program in Dominican Republic, our experience ”, which focuses on the development of cochlear implants in DR, its history, its difficulties and problems, as well as the previous efforts to develop this thrilling field in their country. Dr. Raineri Alessia, PhD in Zurich university in Switserland in the subject of Linguistics, gave a speech on “Bilingual Language Aquisition in CI Recipients: Myths and Facts”, which is about the bilingual language development in children with cochlear implants and Ms. Xiaowei HU, the current Secretary-General of IHEARU CHARITY FUND talked about the “The Development Path of Nonprofit Charitable Organization Oriented by the Needs of Beneficiaries”, introduced the Chinese non – governmental public welfare organization “IHEARU” which focuses on the integration of people with hearing impairments into society.

During the conference, Prof. Li YIN, Chief Medical Officer of Nurotron, delivered important academic reports for three consecutive days:

Restoration of Auditory Deafferentation Alleviates Tinnitus, Anxiety, and Depression: Retrospective studies confirm the positive impact of cochlear implants on patients’ mental health.

A 10-year In-Depth Follow-up of Post-Lingual Deafness Patients with Chinese Cochlear Implants: Verify product stability and clinical effects with long-term data.

Electrophysiological Traits, Parameter Tuning, and Clinical Applications of Electrically – Evoked Auditory Brainstem Responses Post – Cochlear Implantation: Provide electrophysiological basis for intraoperative monitoring and parameter optimization.

The three studies demonstrated the clinical value of Nurotron products from different dimensions and received high attention from experts attending the conference.

At Nurotron booth, Nurotron’s latest cochlear implant 30A (3.0T), and speech processor Airum attracted visitors’ attention, many doctors stay at the booth, did an electrode trial and gained a deeper understanding of Nurotron’s products and technologies.

This time, Nurotron also brought Chinese tea to Hannover, to let the visitor feel the charm of Chinese tea culture.
